WhatsApp messaging setup
Connect WhatsApp Business for OTP and order messages. Guest OTP vs “allow without OTP” is covered in Guest phone verification.
Goal Guests receive OTP codes and order messages you rely on operationally.
Who Owner in Admin → Integrations → WhatsApp.
Steps
- Open Admin → Integrations → WhatsApp.
- Connect your WhatsApp Business account and save the access token.
- Create or sync Digitable templates (OTP, order, order-ready, invoice as needed).
- Send a test OTP or message to a real phone.
- Decide whether guests must verify by OTP — see help topic Guest phone verification (WhatsApp OTP). Turn off “Allow guest orders without WhatsApp OTP” when you want OTP required.
Expected result WhatsApp can deliver codes and updates. OTP requirement is controlled separately under Guest phone verification.
Common mistakes
- Connecting WhatsApp but leaving “Allow guest orders without WhatsApp OTP” on — guests will still skip OTP.
